Barns Green is a picturesque village in the Horsham district, it lies on the Billingshurst to Itchingfield road, 4 miles south of Horsham.
There is a local primary school, and local secondary schools are The Weald in Billinghurst, and, Tanbridge, Millais and Forest School in Horsham. West Sussex County Council provide buses to take the children to secondary school which pick up and drop off at various locations around the village.
Muntham House School in Barns Green is a specialist school offering support to boys and young men who were unable to learn in mainstream education. Muntham offers its excellent sporting and support facilities to the local community and other schools.
There is a local bus service operated by Compass Travel and buses into Horsham run every two hours. Barns Green is most fortunate to be surrounded by lovely countryside with miles of footpaths. The Downs Link runs nearby giving a brilliant walking, cycling and horse riding route from Guidlford to Shoreham by Sea. In Barns Green there is Sumners Ponds. A local farm, popular with many surrounding residents. It offers a café, campsite, fishing lakes and some wonderful walks through spectacular bluebell woods. Barns Green is well known for the annual half marathon race of the same name, and has many sporting clubs.
Close to Barns Green you’ll find the very small quaint village of Itchingfield, which lies on the Barns Green to Broadbridge Heath road 2.7 miles (4.3 km) southwest of Horsham. It is mainly a cluster of houses around the medieval church of St Nicholas.
